Digital transformation solutions provide efficient residential aged care and in home care services and they are easier to implement utilizing Epicor software that complies with the latest government regulations.
Epicor is one of the first software vendors offering digital Senior Living Solutions in servicing the residential aged care and home care industry that has been certified compliant with Services Australia.
The Epicor compliance certification was approved in April 2021 through Service Australia’s PRODA system, an online identity verification and authentication system which allows secure access to online government services.
Providers of aged care and in home care services must go through the certification process that takes up to four months putting their services at risk of non-compliance, explains Greg O’Loan, Epicor Regional Vice President for Australia and New Zealand.
“Technology innovation in the aged care sector is essential to ensure compliance across the industry and, more importantly, help service providers focus on optimum caregiving and accountability.
“Integrating with PRODA, the compliance is automated, eliminating manual internal data processing and human error risks while enabling instant reporting to better inform decision makers and serve business leaders.”
The final report of the Royal Commission into Aged Care Quality and Safety enquiry set up to find ways to improve the services was released last March 1 examining the care provided to seniors living at home, dementia sufferers, young people with disabilities and people living in residential aged care facilities in cities and regional areas across Australia.
Improving the providers’ services by adapting modern technology was among the recommendations in the report which required that all approved service providers transform their services into digital management systems by July 2022.
In addition to industry compliance, Mr O’Loan says the “PRODA interface is estimated to increase administrative accuracies and efficiencies, saving 19.35 hours per month of manual data entry, which could equate to a saving of up to $6,000 annually per aged care facility.
“The administrative cost savings improved productivity and helped to ensure aged care providers were focused on providing care instead of diverting resources to time-intensive, manual data entry and administration.”
